Thermoplastic extrusion

Thermoplastic extrusion is a process in which plastic materials are softened those by heating, and then extruded into a desired shape through dies. It is the ubiquitous and easily scalable industrial process to make things like pipe and tube, sheet and film.

The Process of Thermoplastic Extrusion Explained

The process of thermoplastic extrusion begins when raw plastic in material powder form, is poured into a hopper, where it is contained until it is heated to a predetermined temperature. Once the plastic is heated to the desired temperature, it is forced through a die which determines the final dimensions and form. The resulting plastic then exits the tongue and is quenched and cut to desired length.
