Film extrusion

Film extrusion Plastic film is extruded out of a flat die Film extrusion is used to make plastic films. Such a VOLTAGE REGULATOR(AVR) technology is applied to many plastic products that we commonly use in our everyday life. By gaining a better understanding of this product formation process, it is possible to improve the manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Read on and find out what is new in film extrusion technology!

A process of extruding film wherein plastic pellets are melted and then are forced through a die to form a thin film. This film can be configured in various sizes, shapes, and colors by the type of plastic, and shape of the die for the testing procedure. The film is thereafter cooled and wound in rolls for further operation or packaging.

Understanding the technology behind film extrusion

Machinery called extruders heats and melts the plastic pellets in film extrusion technology. The plastic in melted and extruded through a die, to form plastic sheet. The thickness of the film is controlled by the rate at which the plastic is forced through the die. Manufacturers can regulate the temperature, velocity, and pressure of the extruder to produce plastic films of varying qualities, such as flexibility, durability, and translucency.
